Worldwide Photowalk 2009

I was so excited leading up to last Saturday to take part in such an historical event as the Worldwide Photowalk and now I'm even more excited to share the results with you... my valued readers (all 11 of you ;-)

My niece, Danielle (the one who makes regular modeling cameos on this blog but is such a great photographer as well) and I attended the Tempe/Mill Ave. walk and I had an absolute blast. It's really great and almost necessary for us creative types to just get out there and do what we do best - completely uninhibited with no agenda - and for me it was even better to just shoot for myself and whatever moved me.

OK, enough yapping on my part... here are a few of my favs from the photowalk.

I think I finally have the courage to enable the 'comments' section on this blog. I don't know why, but I have this overwhelming fear that this blog reaches no one (OK, well no one besides my parents) and that having a comments section with no comments would be about the same thing as telling me my photos are horrible.

But, I like to think that my photography has come a long way since I first started this blog and my skin is just tough enough to fully put myself out there. So, I'm hoping that who ever you are (that's you Mom, Dad and anyone else reading this... yeah, you!!) that you will be so kind as to leave a comment every now and then even if it's just to say 'Hey'... I want to know that I'm not just typing and sending this out to the big 'ole World Wide Web for just my parents (luv ya guys, no offense!), but that I am in fact reaching people.

So, let the love fest begin!!

Practice, practice, practice!!

I had an awesome experience today in which I was able to take advantage of Chea Lamb's mini-workshop (check her out... she is uber fab-u-lous) and I got to pick her brain for 1/2 hour on a couple of photo techniques I've been wanting to practice.

All I gotta say is that it's a good thing I have such fantastically, good-looking guinea pigs - oops, I mean models, otherwise my job wouldn't quite be as awesome as it is... but I digress.

Father.Brother.Hero

This is my dear friend's brother who is on his way to Afghanistan in August. I was honored and grateful to be able to squeeze in a quick mini family session for them before they say their goodbyes.
